What’s crafted inside our bars

By: Wipala Tribu

Behind our quinoa bars, get to know our label benefits.

When creating Wipala we had two clear missions, to maintain our Andean roots and to nourish our tribe with real healthy food. Our first snack was these quinoa bars:

Through time we have renewed, evolved and improved them, preserving their sacred essence. In its three distinctive flavors: pineapple, cocoa & banana, it is based on 5 high standards:

Vegan: We keep our bars like all of our snacks 100% out of animal origin. As a principle, one of our promises is to take care of our Pachamama, this is why we believe in a balanced, nutritious diet. Free of animal cruelty and mass production.

Natural ingredients: Each of our ingredients are fresh meaning that haven’t been processed by any synthetic process, in this way they provide more nutrients and minerals. By being free of preservatives and chemicals, the metabolism assimilates them better and quickly. We know that there are snacks that on one hand have a long expiration date but on the other, they reduce life itself. Our organic snacks have 50% more antioxidants than industrialized ones, which helps the body of our tribe to protect itself from any disease and makes a fairer trade and production impact on the economy.

Gluten Free: Commonly it is thought that gluten-free foods are only for people who need a celiac diet, however the benefits of a gluten-free diet are several. First you have to understand that gluten is a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. It can be quite positive, however it is also difficult to digest. By keeping our metabolism active, we reduce headaches, depressive symptoms and inflammation. Likewise, they increase our bone density and strength, improve the health of our skin and improve our energy levels.

Free of allergens: We fight for a good diet to be accessible and inclusive for everyone, for this reason we keep our snacks free of the 14 main allergens.

These are: Cereals with gluten, Crustaceans, Eggs, Fish, Peanuts, Soy, Milk, Nuts like: almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, alfónzigos, macadamia nuts. Celery, Mustard, Sesame grains, Lupins and Mollusks.

Due to the different adaptations that we have developed as a species, there are reactions to certain foods that prevent a healthy and sustainable diet for all.

No GMO: GMOs are genetically modified foods, this requires altered production where the methods endanger biodiversity and the natural balance of the ecosystem. By this, they also generate changes for small farmers that make their jobs less profitable. And above all, the harmful effects that they “can” have on our health are unknown.
