By: Tribu Wipala

Halloween is one of the most expected holidays of the year, adored by both kids and adults alike! For just one day, we look forward to dressing up, eating treats, watching scary movies, and maybe creeping out the neighbors. If you’re planning a spooky party with a small group of friends or take the kids out trick-or-treating to neighbors, we’ve created some tips that will help you make a safe and healthy Halloween this year:

#1 Choose your own treats

A big amount of sweets can alter the health of your children. Time to get creative with the kids and make your own healthy treats and snacks! Add some nutritional value by including fruits, veggies, or nuts snacks. Have you ever tried our Fruity Bites? A healthy and organic Fruity snack mixed with Quinoa, a new way to consume and create healthy and tasty snacks for this Halloween!

#2: Play games and cook healthy

Halloween doesn’t have to be all about snacks or candy! Kids can still have fun if you plan a fun activity for them to enjoy, such as a costume parade, monster tag, or a zombie dance party. You can also make healthy recipes themed around witches or magical creatures. Try our new healthy snacks totally organic and NO added sugars that will help you to replace candy desires.

#3: Hand out non-sugary snacks

So many sweets can be harmful to your children’s health, maybe it’s time to try new healthy options for this season. There’s a non-sugar snack option to choose, such as our Fruity Bites for Kids and adults, that can easily replace our sweet desires, as they are totally organic and NO added sugars. 4: Walk, don’t drive

Regular physical activity helps our body with countless benefits on our health. We all know that walking is a great exercise for kids and adults alike! The door-to-door approach will keep kids active and tire them out when Halloween comes to an end. Be sure to bundle up for the season!

5: Limit the use of bags and candies

Wondering what to do with all that leftover candy or plastic bags? Choose a smaller trick or treat bag/container for your child vs. a pillow case and encourage them to only take one treat from each house. Teach them about moderation, balance, and how to make healthy food choices.
